What is link popularity?
Link popularity is the total number of web sites that link to your site, plus how much authority those sites carry. Search engines treat every quality link as a vote of confidence, so sites with better link popularity consistently rank higher and draw steady referral traffic on top of it.
Why does it matter?
Because links are still one of the strongest ranking signals there is. Knowing who links to you (and to your competitors) is the starting point of every link building effort: it shows you what’s working, what you’ve lost, and exactly where your next links should come from.
